A fresh perspective.A shared purpose.
We believe the work that goes into a harvest deserves to be protected. EvaCRATE brings engineering disciplines together around that simple idea.
From Karachi.
For the journey
after harvest.
EvaCRATE is the product initiative of NST Safeyield Engineers, a student-founded team at NED University of Engineering & Technology.
Our work connects mechanical design, material science and software to explore an accessible alternative between an ordinary transport crate and a powered cold room.
We are at prototype stage. The next chapter is to learn from growers, test under field conditions, and develop a solution around actual storage needs.
Make useful
storage more
accessible.
Develop practical, resource-conscious post-harvest storage that helps growers preserve produce quality and make informed decisions.
A food system
where more of the
harvest reaches people.
Help build agricultural supply chains that value every harvest, use resources carefully, and work for smaller growers.
Purpose, built into
every decision.
People before complexity
Design around the farmer, the handler and the hub operator. Practical use matters as much as engineering ambition.
Evidence before promises
Measure the temperature profile, the operating cycle and crop quality before making performance claims.
Resources deserve respect
Consider energy, materials, water, maintenance and end-of-life choices across the system.
Progress through collaboration
Bring technical disciplines, agricultural knowledge and field experience into the same conversation.
A clear direction.
An honest starting point.
What we are working towards as the concept develops.
- 01
Refine the engineering
Finalise materials, sealing, thermal design and a practical PCM recharge method.
- 02
Listen in the field
Understand crop handling, daily routines, storage constraints and willingness to pay.
- 03
Build the evidence
Compare the prototype with a control and publish results with their test conditions.
Let’s grow something
that lasts.
A better post-harvest future starts with the right conversations.
